Question:
What I want to know is, when a meteorite hits the moon, I notice that
the crater is still there but what happens to the meteorite? The same thing in
Arizona, where there is a big crater, what happened to that meteorite?

The meteorite breaks up into little pieces; some of it may
also vaporize. Many pieces of the one responsible for the
Arizona crater have been found.
