Direction of Sun Relative to Moon
if you saw only a picture of the moon, how could you tell
where the sun was relative to the moon when the picture was taken?
Take the midpoint on a line between the horns of the moon. Draw a
perpendicular through the midpoint. The side of this perpendicular
toward the lit side of the moon points toward the sun.
