Question:
Is there any research on subliminal perception in the auditory system?
Can preconsciously perceived information actually influence people?
Replies:
I don't know about the auditory system, but certainly there is evidence in
the visual system. Some of the work was done by having people view films in which
1 or 2 frames out of the 30 each second contained different images. People, when
questioned, had no conscious perception of those images, but when tested responded
differently than when they saw the same film without those interspersed images.
