Question:
we live in o'fallon, il, (about 20 miles east of st. louis) and want to put a bat house in our backyard, but we haven't seen any bats in our neighborhood. how do we know if it's worth erecting the bat house? is there a way to attract bats to a bat house?

by the way, i read your page of info about bats in IL. other sources contradict your statement about bats having poor vision -- in fact, 2 books that i've read to my son state that some bats have excellent eyesight and do not use echolocation!
