I live in ontario there is a duck that looks like a male mallard overwintering here its entire body is the same green color as a mallard's head .A Gallinule ? A genetic mutation?


Replies:
A purple gallinule is a possibility, the only one that even comes close, though it seems unlikely they would overwinter in Ontario, and they have bright red-orange bills.
