Question:
My Dad has wild cucumbers growing in his rose bushes. How
can he kill the cucumbers without harming the roses? I spend nearly 2
hours pulling the vines out of his roses last week. Many of the rose
bushes are dead, and we are hoping to get rid of the cucumbers before
they kill all the roses.
Replies:
Dear Mary,
I think that there probably are selective herbicides that woody plants like
roses are tolerant of but will eradicate non-woody weeds. You might want
to contact your local agricultural extension office for their recommendations.
