Grafting Pine Trees
Name: Diane K. Status: other Age: N/A Location: N/A Country: N/A Date: 8/18/2003
Question:
I was not able to access your archives. Is it possible to fill a bare spot on a pine tree by grafting one of its branches to the trunk?
Replies:
This is usually done when the trees are very young and branches very small.
Anthony R. Brach, Ph.D
No. Pines normally lose lower branches as they are shaded out by growth higher in the tree.
