Tree leaves and Latitude
What trends can be observed with tree leaves in relation to
Generally, tree leaves are smaller (e.g., leaf area) at higher latitudes
(further north) and higher elevations (altitudes) because of mainly
climatic factors (e.g., temperature). However, the same plant/tree species
would have to be compared across the range because of differences in growth
patterns among species.
