Question:
I'm doing research on a particular bacteria but believe I have
the wrong spelling. Can you help?
Replies:
The spelling I was given is : acinetobacteri baumanni
The correct name is Acinetobacter baumannii. With
bacterial name giving, the first name is always the
genus name, the second name is the species name. The
alternative spelling A. baumanni is also correct. The
bacterium was formerly known as Bacterium anitratum.
