Question:
In string theory, is it possible for the "folded" extra dimensions (6- or 7- manifold) to "unfold", and thus release energy?

Replies:
Hi Vo Viet Anh,

All strings are in vibratory motion(s). Therefore, they unfold and fold based upon thermodynamics (temperature and quantum effects).

Depending on the ambient conditions, they will fold/unfold releasing energy.
